For Roots of the Wild in Argentina, the group is limited to 10 travelers. This small-group approach ensures a more intimate, low-impact experience, allowing for meaningful connections with the people, places, and conservation efforts at the heart of the journey.

While we hope you’ll be able to join us, we understand that circumstances can change. Please review the following policy carefully before booking.

Standard Cancellation Terms

• 121+ days (4+ months) prior to departure: A $200 cancellation fee per person will apply.

• 61–120 days (2–4 months) prior to departure: 50% of the total trip cost, including internal flights, pre/post extensions, and added services (e.g. additional hotel nights), will be non-refundable.

• 60 days or fewer prior to departure: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any refunds at this stage due to our financial commitments to local partners and accommodations.

Deposit Policy

All trip deposits and payments are non-refundable.

For fully private bookings (e.g., you reserve an entire departure), deposits are double the standard rate and remain non-refundable.

Special Note on Deposits & Cancellation Policy

This journey requires a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 USD per person, in addition to the total trip cost. This deposit secures your space on the itinerary and covers the cost of non-refundable, non-transferable permits. Please note that this policy differs from our standard terms, due to the unique nature of the experiences and conservation access included in this itinerary.

Because our trips venture into remote, wild, and weather-sensitive areas, comprehensive travel insurance is required for all travelers. This must include coverage for trip cancellation, interruption, emergency medical needs, and evacuation. We recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking to maximize your coverage window.

This journey invites you to fully embrace Argentina’s wild beauty through engaging, moderate physical activity. Expect daily explorations over varied terrain—think forest trails, wetlands, and natural paths—that may be uneven and require a steady pace. You’ll enjoy immersive walks, occasional standing during exclusive experiences, and moments in warm, humid environments.

Yes. Argentina is generally a safe and welcoming destination. We work with trusted local partners, stay in reputable accommodations, and our expert guides are always there to ensure your safety and comfort.

The best time is from September to April, when spring, summer, and early fall bring pleasant temperatures. Expect 20–30°C (68–86°F) in Buenos Aires and Iberá, and subtropical warmth at Iguazú. Rain can occur year-round, especially near the falls.

Most travelers from the US, Canada, EU, Australia, and many other countries do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. Always check current entry requirements before traveling.

The official currency is the Argentine Peso (ARS). Credit cards are accepted in many places, but cash is often needed in smaller towns or for tips. It’s best to bring US dollars in good condition, which can often be exchanged at competitive rates locally.

All tipping for lodge staff, local guides, and drivers is included in your TerraFauna package. The only gratuity not included is for your dedicated TerraFauna guide; we recommend $10–20 USD per person, per day.

Yes! We’re happy to assist with booking one pre- or post-night hotel stay if you’d like to arrive early or extend your journey. Please let us know your plans so we can arrange accommodations.

Yes. All travelers on this itinerary must be at least 13 years old at the time of travel. This age requirement ensures that participants can comfortably take part in the activities and fully enjoy the experience.

Yes! We can arrange this itinerary as a private departure for up to 10 people. Contact us to discuss your group’s preferences, pricing, and the specific deposit and cancellation terms.

Booking as “willing to share” means you’ll reserve your spot at the double occupancy rate, agreeing to share a room with another traveler of the same gender you don’t know.

If no roommate match is found by 120 days before departure, you’ll be charged the single supplement fee.
