Dr. Asia Haines is an Australian marine scientist dedicated to the conservation of threatened species, particularly sharks and rays. Since 2013, she has worked with Project Manta, leading community engagement and managing the east coast sighting database. Asia regularly joins field research trips to Lady Elliot Island and has studied manta ray aggregations across Australia and overseas. Her Honours research focused on feeding aggregations at Lady Elliot Island, and in 2022 she completed her PhD on manta ray spatial ecology. Asia’s work aims to better understand manta habitat use and the threats they face. She also contributes to global conservation as part of the IUCN Shark Specialist Group’s Important Shark and Ray Areas project and Red List assessments.

Standard Cancellation Terms
121+ days (4+ months) prior to departure: A $200 cancellation fee per person will apply.
61–120 days (2–4 months) prior to departure: 50% of the total trip cost, including internal flights, pre/post extensions, and added services (e.g. additional hotel nights), will be non-refundable.
60 days or fewer prior to departure: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any refunds at this stage due to our financial commitments to local partners and accommodations.
